First of all, I have to say that I adore the background sounds of St. Lucia! Particularly on a cloudy and cold winter’s day. I can close my eyes and imagine that I’m there too.
Listening to the 3 of you chattering about all matter of things is so enjoyable. Lauren was a pleasant addition to the podcast! Amanda, you really made me chuckle when you began talking about word pronunciations. Pundit, chaff, sword, and flagrant surprised me. I’ve heard each of them - correctly pronounced - all of my life. Honestly, I cannot imagine anyone saying sWord! Aaagh! But, I have to admit that I have heard buoy said as bOO-ey all of my life. Growing up in Massachusetts, not far from the coast, I’ve never heard it pronounced any other way. 🤷♀️
So, here is another grammar irritation to add to your list: the inexplicable lack of the letters -ly in adverbs. Huh? Such as, ‘that’s real interesting’ or ‘that’s real funny’. The word is REALLY!
Ok, I’ve rambled on enough.
As an older lady myself, I agree with Amanda’s advice: spend your 20’s finding your own way in life. At age (nearly) 68, I can attest that life passes quickly.
